Birthday Fun!

What a great week this is turning into. As most of you know, Friday is my 28th birthday. I was lucky enough to begin celebrating it last Saturday night with one of my best friends, Angela. Her birthday is exactly 11 days before mine, so celebrating together has become a tradition for us. So on that evening the two of us and our lovely husbands set out to paint the town red. We had a yummy dinner at Boudreaux and then headed out on the town. Okay, so we're getting older. We found a bar we all liked and settled there for the evening. No barhopping for us. We played pool though and Angela's husband fed the juke box (or whatever that thing is called now) all evening. We had a great time and since we are the world's worst pool players, we definitely got our money's worth there. Then we stopped at Perkins on the way home for a midnight snack. It was a great way to start my birthday week.

To finish out the week, we're heading down to KC for the weekend (yay for vacation days!) on Friday. I can't wait!

Busy Weekend

Well, it's Sunday again. Where did this weekend go? Fortunately I spent some time making friends with all those cleaning products under my kitchen sink Friday night, so even though I wasn't home at all yesterday, I don't feel like the weekend was a total loss. :)

So yesterday, Doug & I both worked all day and then we had a surprise birthday party for my friend, Desire', last night. It was alot of fun and I think she was truly surprised. A good time was had by all!

Today we're going to take it easy probably. Maybe head out to get some brunch or something and go see another birthday girl, our niece, Sammy. :)

More Snow

It's another snowy day here at our house. Is anyone still reading this?

We celebrated Doug's birthday last weekend, we are now the same age again for a few months. :) I was a bad wifey and forgot the camera, so I'll just have to tell you how much fun we had. We started Doug's birthday celebrations Friday afternoon with lunch at JerreAnne's with my parents, then Doug had a birthday dinner at Applebee's with his dad and brother. After that we met Aaron & Lindsey for drinks at Houlihan's and from there we went to the Snake Bite Club where Ronnie joined us and then we all went to the Lost and Found. After everything closed we headed home and stayed up a few more hours hanging out with Ronnie. Well, Doug stayed up. I couldn't stay awake that long! Saturday morning came quite early and we met Doug's mom and his brothers and sister-in-law at Cheddar's for another birthday lunch. We all really enjoyed the lunch and it was nice to get everyone together for a few hours. Later that day Doug and Aaron went to see Cloverfield and then came back to the house for Doug's requested birthday dinner, potato soup. Then Sunday was the Super Bowl and we had a few people over, ate way too much junk food and cheered the Giants to victory. All in all, I think he had a pretty good birthday!

Updates

Things are going well with us right now. We've had lots of exciting things come up, some friends getting married and having babies. Not us, though. We're happy to let our lives settle down a bit.

We did our taxes over the weekend and are really going to enjoy that nice refund now that we are married. The hard part is deciding what to do with it!

Doug's birthday is in less than 2 weeks (I still don't know what to get him!) so we're planning lots of fun stuff to do and that weekend is also the Super Bowl, so it'll be like 2 parties! Lucky him. :)

Work is still work for both of us. We're looking at maybe taking a trip/belated honeymoon around our 1st anniversary, so we're planning vacation time already. I can't wait! I'm ready for another vacation. The week off after the wedding was nice and much needed, but this time I want to do something other than write thank you notes on my vacation!

I've started working on our wedding album. It is coming right along. I have the whole ceremony scrapbooked now. I have a few more pictures to print before I can start in on the rest though.

That's pretty much what we've been up to lately. We're pretty boring once we settle down. :)
