Too Busy to Post!

It's been awhile since I've had more than 5 minutes to sit in front of the computer lately. We've had something to do practically every day. Plus, our normal work schedules. Our poor house is a total mess. It looks like a wedding has exploded in here. Unfortunately I think the next 2 and a half weeks are only going to get crazier.

I did get a chance to relax a little this past weekend. I went on a girl's only trip with Carmen, Angela & Desire. We went to KC and stayed on the Plaza and ate and shopped all weekend long. It was great!

This weekend is going to be our bachelor/bachelorette parties. I can't wait for that and I know Doug is looking forward to his also. We're so lucky to have such great friends and family to do these things for us.

Next weekend, I work and we have Hannah's birthday party to attend. Then the weekend after that is the wedding. How did it get here so quickly?

Time Flies

Can you believe yesterday was the one month mark until the wedding? I've decided to quit worrying about all the little things that may or may not get done between now and then and it has significantly reduced my stress level. :)

Last night was the trial run for my wedding hair. I decided about 2 weeks ago to go a totally different direction with it. All along I said I'd wear it up and then one day I decided that since I grew my hair out all this time I might as well let everyone see it. So I'm only going to wear my hair part-way up. The good thing is it will be off my face, but it will still look pretty. I'm really happy with how the trial turned out. Whatever she put in my hair to make the curls stay was really good, because they are still in this morning. I brushed it several times last night before bed and I slept on it and there are still curls! So I'm pretty confident that they will last the day of the wedding.

This morning before I go to work we're going to go pick up our rings. We both had to have them sized down a little bit.

We've got a few more things to pick up for the reception, but things are really starting to come together.

Thank you!!

A great big thank you for the wonderful shower I had yesterday. We got so much great stuff and I can't wait to use it. It was a lovely day. I don't know where we're going to put it all!

Less than 6 weeks to go!

These days keep getting quicker, I swear! Our weekend was so busy I didn't get in the 6 week update.

The invitations got finished and in the mail last week. Hopefully everyone has received theirs by now. A little note here about how we made all this work. Since our ceremony is going to be held outdoors at Doug's, Aunt Patty & Uncle Steve's, house we had to come up with a backup plan in case of rain. Our backup plan is to bring it all inside, but in order to do that we had to limit the number of guests. We hated to do that, but it was the best idea we could come up with. There were still so many people we didn't want to leave out, so we hope you will all join us at the reception and celebrate with us. We most definitely want you there on our special day.

My wonderful friends, Angela & Desire, came over Saturday night and we worked on flowers. We got my bouquet put together and the bridesmaids' bouquets done. There are still plenty boutonnières & corsages to make though, so if anyone wants to lend a hand we'd be happy for the help. My bouquet ended up nothing like what I thought it would. We ended up using a little bit of everything that I have bought for the last few months. It turned out really beautiful, I think. Here's a few pictures for you.
Here's my bouquet laying on it's side.

Another view.

Here's what it will look like when I'm holding it.

Bridesmaids' flowers.

Bridesmaids' flowers close up...aren't they pretty?

The other thing we did this weekend was to go and look at the car that is going to take us from the wedding to the reception. This 1926 Model T belongs to one of my mom's co-workers and he has offered to transport us from the wedding to the reception in it. We were going to rent a convertible, but we decided this would be much cooler!

We also had my birthday dinner with my mom, dad, brother & sister this weekend and that was great too. See, I told you we were busy! It's only going to get crazier from here on out, I'm sure.

New Picture & Updates

The engagement pictures are back. I scanned one in for our pic on the left, but it really doesn't do it justice. They all turned out great. You'll just have to see them in person! Now all we have to do is fill out the form for the NewsPress and submit our engagement announcement.

The invitations are in the mail. Doug & I dropped them off at the post office ourselves, yesterday. Hopefully people will have them in the next day or two.

We decided to go a whole new direction with my dress and that involved getting a new pattern and a everything. Sandy has already made the sample and it's perfect. It was just what we were going for. :) I'm starting to get really excited about it.

Mom & I are going to do some music selecting tonight. Should be fun!

That's all for now. I better get ready for work. Happy Friday!
