Disappointed

While we were visiting Doug's grandma S. this weekend, she told us that she didn't think she would be well enough to make it to the wedding. Part of what she was worried about was standing for too long. She just can't do that and we understood that and never intended for her to have to be standing anyway. She also has a hard time walking now. We tried to tell her that we planned on having them all seated before the ceremony began and that she would be able to go through the house, but she's still pretty sure she's not coming. We've still got 82 days to convince her though! And if she still doesn't end up coming, I'm sure we'll have plenty of pictures and hopefully a recording of the ceremony to show her.

3 Months!

Our wedding is 3 months from today. I cannot believe this time is going so quickly. There's still so much to do! Mom & I figured up all the money we still owe for the major stuff. It's not as bad as we thought, truthfully. So far, we've been pretty good about getting the little things, so hopefully we won't be spending a whole lot of money right at the end on that stuff. Next on our agenda is to figure out how we want to decorate the ceremony site. Any ideas, Aunt Patty? Or anyone else, for that matter.

Sandy & I discovered yesterday that we are going to have to go back to KC for trim for my dress. They had absolutely no bridal trim at JoAnn's. The good thing is after trying on a few more dresses, we know what we want and how we want it on the dress. I wish I would have brought my camera yesterday so we could have taken pictures to show you all. Oh well, I'm sure there'll be plenty of opportunity for pictures soon enough.

This weekend, Doug & I are going to sit down and figure out the music for the reception, so we can get our sheet turned into the DJ ASAP. Who knew you needed to choose a song to play while you cut the cake? We also need to come up with a "Do Not Play" list.

I guess that about wraps it up for the updates. We haven't had any comments for a long long time...is anyone still reading?

Productive

Mom & I had a very productive day today. We went shopping for her MOB dress and she ended up buying the second dress she tried on. It is perfect and it was on sale, so that makes it even better! It's rose colored and is actually the color pink I think we've been looking for in everything all along. We really had a great time shopping today. We also picked up some pretty champagne flutes for the toast. $3 each at Tuesday Mornings. Love them! And I think I found the flowers I want to for the bouquets and such at Michael's. Hopefully, they'll be on sale soon, so we can pick those up. On Thursday, Sandy & I are going to get together and go to the Bridal Boutique to check out trim and other details on wedding gowns. So it looks like we're in an upswing again. That's good because we are at 98 days and counting now. :)

Addresses

Just a quick note before I'm off to babysit the nephews this morning. Doug & I are working on the guest list now, so I'll probably be contacting some of you for addresses, soon. This Saturday will be 14 weeks. It's crazy how much we still have to get done in that short amount of time.

  • dress
  • pick out tuxedos
  • flowers
  • buy the rest of the food
  • buy the rest of the beverages
  • put together the centerpieces
  • figure out our music
  • print the invitations
  • put ribbon on the invitations
  • compile the guest list
  • print the address labels (first I have to buy them!)
  • fill out the sheet for the DJ
I know I'm forgetting things, so feel free to remind me. It's going to be a busy summer!

Another Picture

We picked up Sarah's bridesmaid dress yesterday. I love it even more than when we picked them out. The silver is perfect. I was afraid it would be too dark, but it's not at all. Of course it needs a few alterations, hemming to start and probably needs to be taken in just a little bit, but I think it is going to be beautiful!
