Invitations

Here are some pictures of us working on the invitations...Enjoy!

Mom stuffing the envelopes. I hope you didn't get too many papercuts, Mom!
Doug goofing around!
Doug was a great hole puncher! Actually, everyone has told him that the #1 thing he should be doing right now is helping me and he has taken that advice to heart. Yesterday not only did he work on the invitations with us without complaint, but he also did all the laundry and picked up the house while I was out doing wedding stuff with Mom & Sarah. He's a keeper! :)
Sarah works on a different invitation...my bridal shower invitation! Can't Wait!
Tying ribbon is so much fun!!

7 Weeks!!

7 weeks until the wedding, or 49 days if you'd rather. Wow, this time is going by quick! Invitations are going out this week and next Saturday will be the last Saturday I have until after the wedding that I don't have something to do. I'm sure between now and then something will come up though.

Engagement Pictures

Yesterday we had the engagement pictures taken and they all were so good! We ordered way too many! We had them done at Penney's and our photographer was really great. She even made sure my hair wasn't doing weird sticky-uppy things. :) We're supposed to get the pictures back on the first of August (my birthday!) and we will definitely have plenty of copies, so make sure you let us know if you want any of them.

Time for Another Update

We're still chugging along here. The days seem to be passing quicker & quicker! I got all of the invitations printed last weekend, and this weekend I'll be adding ribbons and getting the envelopes addressed. I want them in the mail by August 1 (*my birthday!*)

Sandy is moving right along on my dress. I went over for a fitting last night and there was a real dress there! The last time I was there (Saturday, I believe) we were still trying on the sample. I took a few pictures with my mom's camera last night, and she emailed them to me. So if anyone is interested in seeing the progress let me know and I'll forward them to you. The dress is really going together beautifully. I know I said I couldn't picture how it would turn out before, and now I'm glad I couldn't. It's everything I could have wanted in my wedding gown and then some.

Okay, enough with the gushing! Doug & I are going to take our engagement pictures on Saturday, so that we can send our announcement into the paper. He even got a new shirt last night just for the occasion. We both got a little sun earlier in the week, so I think the pictures are going to turn out great! Hopefully, my hair cooperates!

It's time for me to think about getting ready for work now. Have a great Thursday!

My Dress!

I've had 2 fittings for my dress so far, this weekend and probably another one later today. Sandy's really going to town on it and I cannot wait to see what it is going to look like. We bought the most beautiful trim for it earlier this week, but it was hard to picture it on the gown, you know? Well, yesterday she had it pinned to the sample so we could really see what it looked like...GORGEOUS!! I didn't bring my camera yesterday, but I'll try to remember to bring it to the next one and I'll have to figure out a way for you all to see the pictures without Doug seeing them. Or maybe you all will get to be surprised too! :)

Friday night, Desire & I had a fun time running around and picking up stuff for the wedding. I got some flowers for my bouquet, the ring bearer's pillow, and the guest book pen. Oh and ink for my printer...speaking of which I really should be printing invitations and not posting on our blog! :) These next 2 months are really going to fly by!

Oops...

We finally bought ribbon for the invitations this week, only to find out last night when I was trying to make a sample, that we totally got the wrong stuff. This is more like ribbon that you wrap presents with, not the pretty satin ribbon that I wanted. Good thing we only bought 2 spools. I already opened one, but we can take the other one back. Kind of irritating though, because it was the *perfect* shade of pink. Oh well, I can use the messed up spool to color match now, I suppose.

We are finally done registering, also. We went to Target on Thursday and registered for all kinds of cool stuff. Mostly bedding and bath stuff which was much cheaper there then it was at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Their kitchen stuff seemed pretty comparable though.

Oh and I think Doug & I finally figured out what we're going to do about the wedding night and whatnot. Since he's taking that Monday after off of work & I'm off that whole week after, we're thinking about waiting to do the hotel thing until Sunday night. We can't miss the Chief's game and we want to do a brunch or something where we open our gifts that next day, so we think it'll just work better for us to come home that night. This way, we can head down to KC or something and really have a nice night and then not have to rush back home the next day. It was all Doug's idea...he's so smart!! :)

Well, I better get going, I've got nephews to go see!

Did you see the new picture?

Doug & I attended my cousin's wedding yesterday and we got all dressed up (see side picture). We looked pretty good, didn't we? :)

It was a very lovely wedding and we got alot of great ideas for our own. We especially liked the presentation of the gifts, where the bride & groom gave flowers to the parents & grandparents during the ceremony. We might have to try to find a way to work that in. And their reception was lovely. They also included a slide show, which was something we were considering, but we were concerned about a screen & a projector, but then I noticed last night that they used a white vinyl shower curtain for the screen and it worked just great! They also had the most adorable centerpieces, with little live fish in them. Too cute! The food was good too, and they also had strawberry cake which was so yummy! We're having it at our wedding, so make sure you try it!

Well, it's time to start cleaning, Doug's outside putting my new chairs together, and I don't want him to come in and catch me slacking. :) I'll post more later!
